SMOK ProColor Design & Features Overview
The SMOK ProColor 225W Box Mod’s dimensions are 85mm x 46mm x 29.5mm, fits atomizers up to 28mm for no overhang and weighs about 150 grams. The device features a stainless steel 510 connection and is outfitted with a spring-loaded and brass-coated stainless steel 510 connecting pin. It is furnished with a lateral side activation bar that is easy to fire with a slight squeeze.
The SMOK ProColor 225W is coated with a more durable paint finish and has a clear coat to avoid the paint chipping issue previous SMOK device models had. Surrounding the screen of the device is the eye-catching shield shaped LED light-up bezel of the device. Definitely the crowning jewel of this vaporizer the LED Bezel has 12 different vibrant color settings, 5 light styles and 3 different light-up variations—for a truly customizable look.
The display of the SMOK ProColor 225W is crystal clear and very appealing to the eye, it also does a great job of being able to pack a lot of information in a limited area. With the HD display on, a user can keep a good track of the device’s settings like atomizer resistance, current battery level, voltage, puff counter and more. The menu is easy to use, though having to switch between a long press or short press of the ProColor’s buttons to navigate the menu is a pretty inefficient feature as a user can easily mess up their presses and can lead back to the beginning of the menu.
The SMOK ProColor has preheat and temperature control capabilities and even a memory mode so a user can input specific settings to pair with different atomizers and quickly switch to the matching setting with a few clicks. The mod has a maximum power output of up to 225 watts with a voltage range of 0.5 to 9.0 volts and has a resistance range of 0.1 ohm – 3.0 ohms in VW Mode and 0.06 ohms to 3.0 ohms in TC Modes. The device is also furnished with built-in safety features such as short circuit protection, overheat protection, low battery protection and a 12 second cut-off for a foolproof vaping experience.
A Cloud-Churner with the TFV8 Big Baby Beast
Paired with the Big Baby Beast Sub Ohm Tank, the SMOK ProColor 225W truly performs. The Big Baby Beast Sub Ohm Tank is included with the full kit version of the device and is well-known for its ability to create huge clouds and delicious flavor with each puff. Preinstalled in the tank is a 0.4 ohm Q2 atomizer coil for robust flavor and as a back up a 0.15 ohm T8 octuple coil is included which churns out incredible clouds.
During use the performance of the SMOK ProColor 225W Box Mod is pretty remarkable and promising, although it sports a 225 watt rating, it didn’t perform at that level (as with similar devices). It maxed out at around 190 watts to 200 watts but is a good number and was still impressive in its cloud-churning abilities.
For those who are huge fan of the Alien 220W Box Mod, upgrading to the SMOK ProColor 225W Box Mod is a great idea. The device is solidly built and feels great in the hand, the LED Lights are a fun addition to its performance capabilities (definitely a great conversation starter) and the HD Display is informative and easy to read though navigation could use a little work. Paired with the TFV8 Big Baby Beast Sub Ohm Tank, this device is a true pleasure to use and makes an excellent choice for a daily vape setup.
